Be warned that although this says 1998 edition, you will be getting a more modern copy that WILL include Common Core alignment. I was disappointed in that fact, but the company at least responded to my complaint and explained that those copies are now out of print and are not available to purchase new. Wish I had known that before I ordered, but I don't want to go to the trouble to send back, so we are using it nonetheless.

We like all of the Evan Moor products and I use them as a parent to provide additional instruction to school work. Each weekly section starts off with a guidance for the teacher...which is great for me as a parent who is *not* a teacher.

I owned the 1998 edition for many years and loved it. Someone borrowed it from me and never returned it. I bought the 2017 edition, but found I did not like it as well. Amazon said this was the 1998 edition and even gave samples of it. However, I received the 2017 edition which I already have and do not like.

I am an ESOL teacher. I bought Daily Language Review to use with five fifth graders every day. The students love these as warm ups at the beginning of my class. The 4 or 5 questions are just the right amount of work for a good warm up. My students are learning a lot as they correct the mistakes in the sentences and complete other activities like synonym or antonym recall. Basically, this book is an excellent resource for any third grade teacher who works in a language classroom.

I absolutely love these daily reviews. The fact that they are a half sheet, except for Day 5, is perfect for morning entry tasks in home room. I’m able to make two sides sheets, with Daily Math Review on the back side.

I used this last year with my 3rd grade class and it was wonderful. It covers so many parts of the core throughout the year that by the end of the year when I was looking over everything my students had to know for the test I was amazed how much we'd really covered. It's great because you can make mini lessons as you go through things.

I love Evan Moore products! Great book for a reasonable price.

I have bought the Daily Language Review books for the last 5 years for both my kids and we use them regularly. They are super and quick reviews! THey touch on everyday grammar, context clues, plural/singular, misspelled words etc. I oftentimes catch my own grammar errors when helping my kids. Well worth the money! These are used in several school districts as well-I was an elementary teacher.

I like that it's short stories - makes for a good quick read but they aren't all that engaging. Perhaps because I can't relate to a lot of the writers that talk about kids and/or family between their writing. Plus the tips or moral of the stories are more along the lines of no brainers than ah-ha moments. It's a good quick grab if you want to escape for 7-10 minutes in a short story but the content isn't really all that engaging.

Many of these stories are women traveling a few days in the US - or go off for a short amount of time but meet up with a group later. Also, some of the writers were excellent and others were not. I love the idea but it just wasn't a book that I would recommend to others.

Good book

Quick read with a few good essays. Sold back to my local bookstore, so not a "keeper," nor did I recommend to anyone. Not bad.

Nothing to say; not as entertaining as some others I've read

This book was easy to pick up and read a short story and then set down and forget about it only to pick it up a couple days later for another one. The overall feeling I got was that I hope my travels abroad will in no way reflect what any of these women experienced. These woman have chosen not only to go it alone, but to go to places that I have never even considered. From ice and bullets to vertical climbs and running from horny men, please I beg...let me have a less interesting story to share when I return. While I was certainly inspired by the strength, courage and passion demonstrated by this group, part of me was hoping for a more naive, first time abroad, simple traveler like I'm about to become in a few days. My favorite thing about this book was the cover, I could gaze at it over and over. If you are looking for adventure, REAL adventure by REAL women, give it a read.

I wanna go!

Simply a lovely collection of easy-to-read travel essays by some very talented women. I highly recommend this to anyone seeking to get away for a few minutes a day.
