I don't like leaving a bad review, but I don't feel like I got my money's worth with this book. First off, there are no pictures. This seems to be a trend in these little handbook style 'books". Second, the start up costs for these recipes are very high. There are so many ingredients needed that I don't have on hand that I would spend half my monthly food budget buying them. Also, I have found very similar recipes online for free. Plus, all the recipes require essential oils, some of which are blends that you can only buy from the author's company, Young essential oils, which are very costly. She says they're the purest and only oils she trusts. It is handy to have many recipes in one resource, but I won't be buying these expensive essential oils so they're almost useless for me. Also, so many of these natural living books are full of opinions not backed up with real science. Stating that the chemicals in mass produced cosmetics are recognized by the body as "poisons" is a strong statement that I would find much more credible if backed up with a reference. Not to mention, anything ingested (via the mouth or skin) can become "poisonous" to the body depending on dose and individual reaction. Therefore, essential oils could become as dangerous or more so than the "poisonous chemicals" found in mass produced beauty products. She admits as much in her intro when she recognizes that most essential oils, except for her company's of course, are not meant to be ingested (via the mouth or the skin), so if you use a non ingestible one on your skin you could be doing yourself harm. I will stick to what my dermatologist recommends for my skin.

I'm so excited to have this "cookbook" of DIY beauty recipes and have all of the recipes handy in one place. I plan on making several of these including the bug repellent gel, the acne wash, and the foaming hand soap. As for her being a Young Living rep, she only makes mention of the oils she uses briefly. The rest of the book is good, solid information for those just getting started with essential oils, and a wealth of DIY Beauty recipes for any essential oil user. I love that the recipes are all really simple (but effective). They don't require much extra time, and the ingredients are super easy to find. I would recommend this ebook to anyone who wants a good resource guide and lots of new DIY beauty recipes.

It has everything you need to start a natural, customized skin care program that will keep your skin healthy and happy and save you money. I plan on using many of these recipes in my salon.

I've been looking for a comprehensive book on DIY beauty care and natural home remedies and this was IT. I love that there are recipes for the whole family - from shampoo to facial wash to bug repellant - and it's all natural. I can finally replace all my conventional cleaners and products for cheaper - while keeping my family healthy.

This book has great beauty recipes in it. Full of very helpful information. Great for anyone new to essentials but also great recipes for those who are already familiar with essential oils. Wonderful to find easy ways to stay healthy.

I think that these will release people from being subjected to sodium lauryl sulfate in body products including soaps, makeup, shaving cream, acne medicines, lotions......you name it......you gotta have this book!

It's also a great introduction to using essential oils with recommended list of ingredients and equipment for homemade beauty products.
